Steve Riley & The Mamou Playboys

Steve Riley and the Mamou Playboys are masters of Cajun French music from Southwest Louisiana, with a career spanning over three and a half decades. Their pristine performances have earned them multiple Grammy nominations, including nods for albums "Trace of Time" (Traditional Folk), "Bon Reve" (2004), "Live at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival" (2009), and "Grand Isle" (2011).

The current lineup showcases remarkable musical versatility with three songwriters and four vocalists, featuring David Greely (fiddle, vocals), Burke Riley (drums, vocals), Thomas David (bass), and Sam Broussard (guitar, vocals). Led by Steve Riley, a virtuoso of the Cajun accordion from Mamou, Louisiana, the band seamlessly blends traditional two-steps with a cappella ballads and blues-influenced Creole sounds.

Steve Riley's musical prowess has led to collaborations with legendary artists including The Rolling Stones, Eric Clapton, Robert Plant, Elvis Costello, Willie Nelson, and Paul Simon. As a founding member of both Lil Band o' Gold and Band Courtbouillon, Riley's achievements include a 2013 Grammy Award shared with Wayne Toups and Wilson Savoy. His masterful accordion playing has become a benchmark for timing, phrasing, and creativity in Cajun music.
