Multi-instrumentalist Carlos Malta is in town. The sax and flute virtuoso is performing at UNO on Wednesday and will also perform two sets at Snug Harbor Thursday. WWOZ will broadcast the second set LIVE in case you are unable to attend.
One of Brazil's most respected musicians, Malta is a composer, performer, arranger, band leader and music educator who has performed all over the world.
You should try to see his live performance. If you are unable, keep it locked to WWOZ on Thursday night, starting at 10 pm New Orleans time, and we'll bring you a refreshing musical blast from Brazil straight to your ears.
These photos were taken during his rehearsal at Snug Harbor on Thursday afternoon.
