Strange things happen when marching bands come indoors. We're used to seeing them outdoors and on the move. Here's a different look at a Roots of Music, performing in what amounts to the orchestra pit.

For the first 3 minutes of this video, Roots is backed by Dragon Smoke, a Jazz Fest "superjam" that includes Ivan Neville, Stanton Moore, Robert Mercurio, and Eric Lindell. The last 10 minutes or so is all Roots. It was shot during last year's Fiya Fest, a benefit for Roots held at Mardi Gras World on the second Friday of Jazz Fest.
