The Circle of Chiefs 10th Annual "Indian Cha WA" Downtown Super Sunday will be held April 10th at 12pm. Featuring the New Creation Brass Band, Pigeon Town Steppers, The Original Black Seminole Baby Dolls, Preservation Hall, Kid’s Nation and more!

The procession of intricate bead work, feathers and harmonious drumming and chants start at Orleans & Moss (Bayou St. John) down Orleans Ave, Broad St, St. Bernard to N. Dorgenois and ends at Hardin Park.

There are three Super Sunday Mardi Gras celebrations that happen each year-- Uptown, Downtown, and Westbank. Super Sunday is an annual gathering of Mardi Gras Indian Tribes celebrating their heritage and culture in a magnificent display of hand-sewn suits, singing, dancing and chanting. The Indians congregate on picturesque Bayou St. John before the start of the parade and suits are displayed for photos and up close viewing. This is a good time to learn more about the culture and politely take photos.
