Show Host Profile: Fox DuhonPercussionist and Lafayette native Fox Duhon discovered WWOZ about ten years ago, when he moved to New Orleans for school. He jumped right into the local music scene, having played a number of Crescent City clubs prior to moving to town, and sooner rather than later he connected with WWOZ's Boudin Man. One thing quickly led to another and soon Fox was spending time in the station's studio watching his show host friends spin the magic. When he was ready to make the leap, he sent the station what Fox calls "a long-winded appeal to become a DJ." He's now host of Tuesday's Morning Set from 6 to 9 am and co-host of Wednesday's Kitchen Sink program from 10 to midnight. "Most of what I have in my world, and I'm eternally grateful for it, has been via the vessel of music. It's genuine magic, you can't really explain why sound waves trigger emotional reactions. At its core, it's this mysterious, beautiful thing." So very well said! |

Recipe: Dr. John's Raccoon StewWe're pretty sure this is the best Grammy-winning, Rock-n-Roll Hall-of-Famer's Raccoon Stew recipe in the world! For most of us, it's one of those recipes that's more for reading than for actual cooking. It was the late great Dr John's contribution to That Sounds Good, our 2013 collection of recipes contributed by the New Orleans music community. |
